Album Design for Jam Artis

  • The 2026 album “Infinity: The Soundtrack of a Wandering Mind” by Jam Artis features 16 tracks taking you on an interstellar voyage full of fun, peace, love, and music.

    Jam let us listen to his unreleased album and asked us to put together visuals to create the album cover and promo content.

  • Working with Jamareo for years, we’ve come to know his love for all things animation. He loves to create worlds out of pure imagination with his music, and we sought to do that with this project. Early discussions had us brainstorming the use of handmade creations and bringing the inanimate to life. We leaned into the idea of childlike imagination to use cardboard as our medium, and from there, the idea of building a cardboard spaceship was born.

    The construction of an imaginary ship then became the vessel that literally manifests an entire universe, and that actually transports the wandering mind into infinity.

  • Jamareo “Jam” Artis is an American bassist and music producer who is most known for his work as a member of Bruno Mars and the Hooligans. He’s toured the world for years and has performed twice at the Super Bowl halftime show, among countless other major awards shows and events. He’s written and produced 3 of his own solo albums that each showcase his iconic funk style!

  • Once Jamareo gave us the name of the album, the idea of creating a character came to mind rather quickly; no pun intended! The “Wandering Mind” became a literal mind, or brain, with arms, legs, and a face, with the design influenced by the old California Raisins commercials.

    Iterations of the brain character began to take shape and Jam requested to add an afro to match his own hair style as well as his favorite sunglasses. We added a pair of headphones so the funky little dude could listen to the soundtrack on his journey.

    Thus, Captain Brainiac was born!

These images were designed as further promotional material to be shared after the album release to encourage further engagement to listen to the album. Each image incorporates Captain Brainiac in one way or another.

ALBUM PROMO VIDEO

  • We decided to incorporate real world items into the design to give the elements an even greater significance. For example, we designed the various parts of the ship to appear as if they were put together with scrap musical instrument parts; paired with the cardboard.

    The ceiling prominently features bass guitar strings and electric pickups on the left and right.

    In the right corner near the window, there’s the “JAM” logo that we created for him 10 years ago.

    In one of the scenes of the promo, you can see a room where Jam’s real bass is on display. You can also see the red boombox from his previous album “The Red Boombox” featured in that same room.

    We also designed the navigation system at the center to show a heart at the center of the radar and blips of music notes to symbolize letting the heart guide you to the music.
